Flyby: High Performance Cloud and Terrain Visualization

MCVL Homepage Department of Computer Engineering and Computer Science

Flyby

Flyby is used to visualize terrain and weather data. It was originally written at NASA. Initial work performed on Flyby at the University of Missouri has involved converting its graphics/user-interface from IrisGL to OpenGL/Motif. In addition, the flightpath module has been substantially changed and a stereo viewing option has been added. Rendering improvements have included mesh simplification and view-dependent culling. In addition, FlyBy can read files over the Internet using HTTP or FTP, create VRML models, and create digital movies.
